I have just managed to remove the whole front chassis unit as one. I thought you might like to see the photo
I did nt know if it was possible until today. I am changing the unit for the 2nd HY as the body is good and the engine is Diesel.
Please ask if you would like more information

You can clearly see the 4 holes where the shaft go on the rear end

two years ago when we went to a neighbouring village to buy a peugeot J7 and another CX break diesel, there stood also a HY. the owner told us she only had 20,000 k on the clock and if needed was for sale. probably for as silly a price as we paid for our J7 and CX. the only problem was that the HY didn’t have any wheels and was at that time in use as a chicken shed. if I remember correctly, the price then was 200 euros. provide it with wheels and you’ve got yourself a brand new HY. seems like a lot less work.
but keep on going and keep us informed. we do all like pictures and the first picture seems to be missing.

Yes I must say it has made me think although it wasnt easy on my own and bloody heavy to move out it was a days work.
I also removed all the dials and wiring as it will be going in an originally petrol but with a straight swap ove it could probably be done in a good day with a couple of people.
Sorry about photos I changed them on my website thus lost them here.

My purchufter-valve site is my general car site so most details will be posted on there
