Zou Tukker z’n eigen auto niet herkennen?

If someone is saying I am lying or am mistaken I can assure you I am not.
There was something I didn’t understand asking about the chassis code or so.
For clarity the Meldcode is 7007 if that is what is required.

I see the car has some ‘new’ carpet and headliner (the old one was damp and has sagged) in it since it was sold. Also, carpet in the trunk to cover the rust I guess. Also, not the hats on the parcel shelf - I can tell you they are there to cover the badly cut speaker holes that are there.
I can tell you that the rust on the rear shells touches the wheels when the suspension is lowered.
I can tell you the steering rack is recently replaced but still is one that leaks very badly internally.
I can tell you this car has the starter motor from what is now my car as it used to have a new valeo starter which i removed for my new car.
The alternator is a ‘new’ one but the voltage regulator is bad.
The clock has no insides at all.
The LPG tank holds 38 litres full.
There is a dent on the underside of the tow hook mounting where I reversed into the same post twice in one day in winter.
The end of the choke cable in not original.
It used to have seatbelts - now I have them.

But, to be fair to the seller, he doesn’t ask for a high price. He asks for an offer, so you don’t know what he wants for the car. I think the single bidder of 4000 euro did not see the car for real. Would he have seen the car with the faults you described and had a bit of knowledge about old cars in general or the citroen DS in special, he would have withdrawn his bid. In the meantime this is a DS with a APK for almost two years. For the right price it could be a nice project for someone, or a daily runner for the winter? The interiour looks ok and I have seen doors and wings in far worse condition.

In my opinion it is also up to a buyer to examin the car thorougly, with such an old car you have your own responsibility when it comes to buying it. In the end there could always be someone who is searching for exactly this kind of project.

Maar om eerlijk te zijn naar de verkoper; hij vraagt niet om een hoge prijs, hij vraagt om een bid. De bieder heeft waarschijnlijk de auto niet gezien. Als hij de auto met de door jou beschreven fouten had gezien, had hij zijn bod van 4000 euro wel ingetrokken. Ondertussen staat er een auto met een APK van bijna twee jaar. Voor de juiste prijs is dit misschien wel een leuk project voor iemand om op te knappen, of om als dagelijkse auto te gebruiken voor zolang het duurt? Het interieur ziet er redelijk uit en ik heb deuren en spatborden in veel slechtere conditie gezien.

Uiteindelijk moet een potentiele koper zelf goed de auto bekijken. Bij oude auto’s heb je je eigen verantwoordelijkheid vind ik. Uiteindelijk kan dit precies het juiste project voor iemand zijn.

But ofcourse, thanks for warning us! Maar natuurlijk bedankt voor de waarschuwing.

I agree with most of what you say apart from the quoted bit.

This car was sold for scrap because it could not pass an APK (It had 3 or 4 months remaining when I sold it but needed much longer to fix.
The car is then bought at scrap value by a dealer in Ommen who puts a new APK ‘without remarks’and sells it for alot more than he paid -> the APK is worthless.
The car is then sold again a few more times and makes its’ way to Zuid Holland now where it is for sale again.
This is not a safe car to drive. If you want to do what SPAM has done then fine. Do it. But only pay scrap value for the car.
This guy is asking 5750 ‘but for a quick sale’ will reluctantly let it go for less. Translation -> I have overpriced this car massively so I can sell it at an apparent bargain price (because my girlfriend thinks it’s too large blah blah blah) when in reality I am trying to offload this shit box before it kills me but I don’t mind putting someone else’s life in danger so long as I have a few euros.

Get my point.

EDIT: As for winter driver there are a few problems with that a) you will get hypothermia as the seals don’t seal b) this car has a worn out 40 year old starter motor and original distributor in bad condition so starting it could be fun c) the KVS leaks into the cylinders somewhere so again, starting will be fun d) unless there is a new battery that one is kaput e) when I sold it it would not idle on petrol.

Nou mannen (en vrouwen) wie uit de omgeving van Gorinchem gaat zaterdag de DS in kwestie eens even bekijken, proefritje in een andere DS is toch ook nooit weg ????

de verkoper mailde mij net terug om te vragen of ik nog interesse heb, ik heb eens een paar van Tukker’s gebreken nagevraagd, eens zien wat ie mailt, maar inderdaad, wie daar in de buurt eens wil gaan kijken/rijden? ik heb wel interesse als ie is zoals op de foto’s en niet zoals tukker zegt

als je op de foto’s kijkt zie je inderdaad geen gordels meer in de auto en een paar hoeden op de plank, dus ik vertrouw het verhaal van Tukker wel.

ik voel me ineens bezwaard als Gorkummer…

al iemand gaan kijken? ik kreeg juist mailtje waarin hij de prijs wat deed zakken… maarja, is het inderdaad echt een wrak?

Nou woont er iemand in Gorinchem of in de buurt? Dan wil ik wel eens gaan kijken maar ik ga niet alleen daar heb ik geen zin in.

ik woon in BE, dus voor mij ist een beetje ver om zomaar eens te gaan kijken, niemand anders die met MarioTT eens wil gaan kijken? ben wel benieuwd…

Toch apart hoe z’n rotte auto er op en paar foto’s best goed uit ziet. De auto valt wel een beetje buiten de boot vergeleken bij de rest van de aanbiedingen van deze adverteerder.

Ik heb donderdag of vrijdag wel tijd om mee te gaan kijken.
